Newsletter: STC Austin Communicator I worked as a co-editor of Austin Communicator, the bimonthly newsletter for the Austin chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC), from 2000-2001, and as editor from 2001-2002. The newsletter was available online only. Review a sample issue of Austin Communicator.

I performed the following tasks for this newsletter:

• Created overall design for newsletter in Adobe Pagemaker, including master pages.
• Solicited articles and columns from STC members and officers.
• Edited columns for style and space issues.
• Wrote columns as needed.
• Worked with an illustrator to create art related to articles or columns. Scanned illustrations and edited for newsletter.
• Used dingbat fonts in Adobe Photoshop to create art for newsletter.
• Worked with advertisers to include ad copy and artwork in publication.
• Performed layout of articles and artwork into standard newsletter template in Pagemaker.
• Created draft and final PDFs of newsletter.
