The best gifts you could give us to celebrate the day are your thoughts and well-wishes. If you prefer a more tangible expression, may we suggest a donation to one of the following organizations that we support.
- Austin Free-Net – Austin Free-Net provides convenient access to the Internet and computing resources through access and training sites that are free and open to the public. They have been working hard to improve computer access and literacy in Austin. They were originally responsible for placing Internet computers in all the Austin branch libraries. Today, they serve all segments of the community, including the disadvantaged, youth, and seniors.
- Habitat For Humanity, New Orleans – As a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, they are a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry building simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with people in need of adequate shelter.
- Breast Cancer Action – Breast Cancer Action is a national grassroots organization that advocates for true prevention through understanding and eliminating the causes of breast cancer. Chip's Mom Gail Minsky, a cancer survivor, passed away in January. Breast Cancer Action was one of the memorial charities the family chose. We miss her terribly, and offer this organization as one way to honor her memory.
